Crafting Visual Identity and Exhibition Spaces for Creative Innovation
The Distributed Design Platform and its global members will host a conference themed “Open Design” at the Vienna Design Week. The event will feature a full day of discussions and workshops that challenge conventional design and production paradigms. Key themes include open-source design, collaborative practices, grassroots movements, regenerative design, and the role of creative activism in disrupting the status quo. With speakers from around the world and over ten community-hosted workshops, the event aims to inspire new approaches to design.
My Role as a Graphic Designer
For this event, I developed the visual identity for the conference and exhibition space. My role as a graphic designer was to create a cohesive and engaging design that reflects the event's collaborative and open-source themes. Once the identity was finalized, my team took over, curating and constructing the exhibition at the Festival Headquarters, located in the Village im Dritten. The Vienna Design Week's unique, nomadic nature offered us a special opportunity to work within spaces marked for future deconstruction, allowing us to contribute to a truly dynamic and evolving festival environment.
