Detect trends before they become trends
A weak signal is an early indicator of potential future changes that may have little or no impact in the present but could lead to significant events over time. These signals set trends, suggest directions, and help outline possible future scenarios. Essentially, a weak signal is a precursor to a trend before it becomes a prominent subject of future research.
The Atlas of Weak Signals provides a hands-on, collaborative approach to exploring these emerging signals, which have been identified across our strategic research areas over the past decade. You can now download and print your own copy of the Atlas, using the cards as tools to imagine and design future scenarios together.
In this project, I collaborated with Mariana to design the deck space and each of the cards. The design process and how to use the cards are explained in the following video, created by Lina Sofia Cordoba, and further instructions on how to play can be found on this website.
